ABOUT
I’ve spent most of my life in the Sonoran and Mojave Deserts, living in Tucson before moving to Las Vegas. Growing up in such an atmosphere shaped my perspective of the design and left me with a profound respect for placemaking in the Southwest. While studying at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, I learned to utilize my passion for my unique hometown and it’s unforgiving climate through design. I graduated Summa Cum Laude in May of 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a minor in Real Estate. As the Robert Fielden Medallion recipient, I was named the School of Architecture’s top student. I chose to pursue an M.Arch at Ohio State’s Knowlton School of Architecture because I wanted to gain a new perspective outside of the region. The immersive design experience I received at OSU forced me to confront new ideas of formal investigation while remaining grounded in a strong tradition of history and theory. Between my time in the midwest and southwest I received multiple accolades for my work, including three AIA Nevada Design Awards, four AIAS National Design Awards and a short listing on the UNI Opera by the Sea Competition.
I started my professional career at SH Architecture (now Knit Studios) during my undergraduate tenure. Working part time during the academic year and full-time during breaks, I spent three years gaining experience with large and medium sized public and institutional projects. I’ve spent the two years following graduate school with assemblageSTUDIO, a boutique design firm in Las Vegas. I’ve played a significant role in award winning projects that explore ideas of place, form, and craft, challenging how one sees shelter in the desert. As designer and project lead with assemblage, I have piloted custom residential, commercial, and mixed use projects from conception through bidding and/or groundbreaking. These experiences have given me an appreciation for the bond between the discipline and practice of architecture and how together they create a rich and meaningful built environment.
